All of our portable control panels are designed for wired control and thus suitable for use as emergency control units, among other applications. You choose additional functions and equipment.

• The portable panel can be attached to a harness, with or without breastplate.
• A base guarantees safe stopping and a protective bracket secures your device in case of unforeseeable impact or falling.
• A black anti-static version is also available.
• You determine the functions of the control panel. Many of our joysticks are available as control elements. Pushbuttons, indicator lamps and other control elements can be integrated. Sockets, LCDs and display instruments can be selected individually. We adapt the cable opening and size of the housing to your expectations. Of course, we advise you which combination possibilities can be beneficial.
• Moreover, all portable control panels are available wired and with connection cable and plugs.

Maintenance switches

Extreme environmental condition, highest safety requirements – our maintenance switches have proven their value over several decades of use in cement plants, on belt drives or in port crane control applications. If you are looking for a robust, long-lasting switch, this maintenance switch is the right one for you. We deliver it with a 10 year guarantee.

You receive the cam switch in various versions in a hierarchy according to switch output. The high durability and reliability are guaranteed with the solid ball handle, the milled cam discs, ceramic spark chambers, the powerful blow magnet and the large contact opening path, depending on the version.

We can equip the maintenance switch with solid metal locking mechanisms so that you can attach a padlock. We also deliver it installed in a sturdy housing made of cast aluminum or metal. 

Gear limit switches

If you are looking for a slewing limit switch for your lifting equipment applications, Spohn + Burkhardt gear limit switches are the perfect choice. These modularly designed switching devices are robust and can be adapted to your individual requirements. For example, multiple adjustable contacts, potentiometers or encoders can be flanged onto the metal drive shaft according to your requirements. We install the limit switch in a powder-coated steel sheet or stainless steel housing in the appropriate size for the switch. 
 

Braking controllers

Joysticks are used widely in the railway and shipping sectors. Switches with contacts and encoders are used primarily. The switch is defined by its functions and output signals.

We have developed the switches FBS, VNS0 and ST0 for railway applications. They can each be equipped with different features and truly impress with their friction brake and/or resetting function. We also have developed numerous special joysticks with Hall sensors, mechanical reset blocks, positively actuated contacts and dead man's function, with other specifications. We also develop ergonomic designs specifically for railway joysticks and make them resistant to ozone and UV radiation. 

Special switches

Special sector-specific challenges require custom configurations. For this reason, we develop custom solutions, such as switches with a double drive or rotary potentiometer for Ex applications. We also install hardware contacts in DC and AC versions that are controlled with proven drive mechanisms, as well as DC and AC contacts. Just ask us – we'll find an optimal solution!

Ergonomics

Healthy and efficient work also depend on ergonomically designed foot switches. For this reason, our foot pedals come with a ribbed step plate and heel edge for foot positioning. We can also develop ergonomically adapted foot rests. Versions for surface installation or partially recessed installation are available.
 

Safety

You can order a metal protective hood for all pedals. Simple and sturdy mountings keep the foot pedals in place so that slipping is impossible. 
 

Durability

The protection rating of the foot switches is between IP42 and IP56. The materials that are used are powder-coated aluminum and stainless steel. Do you have other requirements? Ask us, we work with you to develop the right solution. 
 

Controller

The choice is yours. The controller can be single- or multi-stage, with or without resetting. We also provide analogue switching is also possible, with contacts if desired, or 4-stage switching.

For medium-duty applications, we recommend this joystick which has been field-proven in use for decades. The drive block with special leak-current-proof, heat-resistant and cold-resistant insulation supports all mechanical components and serves as contact protection for the electrically conductive parts. An optional zero position, horn, or deadman’s (operator presence) contact can be integrated in the drive block for space-saving and protected installation. Insulated double contact elements for up to 250 V and 10 A are intelligently positive locking and additionally flanged securely on the drive block. Various connecting links are available for mechanical limiting or guidance of the direction of movement. Standard and special connections can also be provided with the use of up to four double contact elements per axis. Positive-locking potentiometers and encoders can be docked with the use of a simple sliding coupling or directly instead of a double contact element. In addition to numerous special equipment applications, this joystick is supplied as standard equipment for cranes, control stations, and in portable control consoles – thanks to its low weight.

Both standard and custom solutions can be produced based on our modular principle. The sturdy metal cast drive block used as standard by Spohn + Burkhardt assures a long service life and high number of switching cycles. Including spring-return to center, friction brake and mechanical interlocking, the modular concept enables a wide range of options and variations. We provides this joystick in versions either engaging in 5-0-5 step output or with spring-return. A combined version with locking contact positions and momentary contact positions is also possible. Equipped with micro-switches, double contact elements, potentiometers, or absolute encoders, it can be used for a wide range of demanding control tasks. With an integrated bus interface, it works just as reliably as a bus node as with a valve amplifier for activation of solenoid valves. The comprehensive handle assortment completes this joystick with optical and tactile features. Depending on installation dimensions, we recommend the ST2 as a shorter variant with a lower profile than the standard ST0. This joystick is frequently used in control consoles, construction machinery, municipal vehicles, and in work platforms.
